Indigenous Literacy and Parenting Skills (ILAPS) is an innovative program designed to help parents develop essential literacy, learning, and parenting skills. The program honours Indigenous traditions and perspectives, supporting parents as they learn strategies to enhance their children's literacy development while exploring parenting topics and improving their own literacy skills.
Facilitators will gain strategies for working with adult foundational learners and families, learn cultural facilitation techniques, and discover how to adapt ILAPS sessions to meet the unique needs of their communities, along with effective literacy instructional methods.
Facilitator training usually runs for 3 days and can be taken online or in person.
