Indigenous Workplace Learning Circles (IWLC) helps foundational learners, people new to the workplace and people returning to work. The program builds on participant’s strengths and incorporates traditional culture and language with employment readiness training to build their confidence and literacy skills.

The IWLC Facilitator training builds community and workplace capacity to deliver their own IWLC programs. The program walks participants through the IWLC curriculum and explores methodologies and tools to help successfully deliver the IWLC program and support Indigenous learners.

Some of the topics covered in the training include:

  • How we use essential skills in everyday life

  • How to embed essential skills in activities to help learners at their literacy and readiness level

  • Literacy instructional techniques

  • Cultural facilitation strategies

  • How to adapt IWLC sessions for their community and organization

Facilitator training usually runs for 3 days and can be taken online or in person.
